Parents… another Beyond the Borough day-trip idea incoming! 🚗💛
Sometimes you just need somewhere you can take the kids where everything has been thought about for little people — the play, the facilities, the food, the quiet spaces and even somewhere to park the buggy.
We recently headed over to Weybridge to visit friends and were lucky enough to spend the morning at The Little Borough — and honestly, we were SO impressed.
It’s an adorable children’s role-play and sensory space that had my toddler completely immersed in imaginative play from the moment we arrived.
There are so many different role-play areas to explore, and my little one immediately made a beeline for the fire station.
Cue racing to the rescue as a firefighter, putting out pretend fires with the hose and generally living his best emergency-services life! 😂🚒
From there, we headed to the shop, where he filled up his trolley and scanned the groceries, before stopping for lunch in the little diner.
It was lovely watching him move between the different spaces and create his own little stories as he played.
🛒 Shop & Diner
🐾 Vet & Pet Grooming Salon
🚒 Fire Station
🧱 Magnetic Tile Wall
🌈 Marble Run
🎨 Giant Pegboard
…and plenty more!
There’s a really lovely balance between imaginative play and activities that encourage problem-solving, creativity and fine motor skills without it feeling remotely like learning.
It’s simply fun.
One of our favourite features was the beautiful calm sensory room.
Having somewhere quiet to escape to between all the excitement was such a thoughtful addition, particularly for babies and toddlers who can sometimes become overwhelmed in busy play environments.
We popped in for a little reset before heading back out to play, and it made such a difference.
It’s these little details that made The Little Borough feel so thoughtfully designed for young children.
Parents will know that sometimes it’s the facilities that make or break a day out with a toddler!
The Little Borough has:
🛴 Dedicated buggy park
🧼 Spotless baby-changing facilities
🚽 Toddler-friendly toilets
🫧 Lower sink for little ones
🚻 Child-sized toilet seats
Everything felt clean, accessible and genuinely designed with families in mind.
There’s also a café on site with plenty of options for little ones and grown-ups, so you don’t have to worry about finding somewhere to eat afterwards.
And perhaps most importantly…
They serve iced coffee. 😂☕️🙌
There’s also air conditioning throughout, which made it such a welcome escape from the summer heat.
If you’re travelling over from Wimbledon, Morden or the surrounding areas, you can easily make a whole day of your trip to Weybridge.
Churchfields Splash Pad & Playground is within walking distance, so you could start the day with some role play at The Little Borough before heading over for some outdoor water play.
There is lots of paid parking around Churchfields, making it a handy option if you’re travelling by car.
So you could quite literally go from:
🚒 Firefighter → 🛒 Shopping → 🍔 Lunch → 🤍 Sensory reset → 💦 Splash pad → 🛝 Playground
…which sounds like a pretty perfect toddler day to us!
We think The Little Borough is particularly suited to:
🍼 Babies
🧸 Toddlers
🎨 Younger preschoolers
There’s enough to keep curious little ones busy without the space feeling overwhelming or being geared towards much older children.
A big YES from us! ❤️
If you’re looking for a Beyond the Borough day trip that’s genuinely worth the drive from Wimbledon, The Little Borough is definitely one to save.
It’s thoughtfully designed, beautifully presented, toddler-friendly and — most importantly — my little one absolutely loved it.
And when you can combine imaginative play, sensory time, lunch, air conditioning AND an iced coffee… we’re calling that a parenting win. 😂☕️
