Looking for somewhere to pick a pumpkin this October?
Whether you want to actually head into a pumpkin field with a wheelbarrow, find somewhere a little closer to home, or make a full day of it with Halloween activities thrown in, there are plenty of options within an easy-ish drive of Kingston.
We’ve rounded up 13 pumpkin patches, pumpkin-picking farms and pumpkin-filled days out around south-west London and Surrey, including a few that are a little further afield but are worth knowing about.
And yes, we’ve included Tulleys. Because if enough Kingston parents tell us it’s worth the drive, we’re listening. 🎃
Dates, prices and availability can change, so check the official website before you set off. Pumpkin prices are generally extra unless stated otherwise.

If you’re looking for something close to Kingston, Garsons’ Pumpkin Parade is an obvious place to start.
This year’s theme is circus-inspired, with colourful decorations, interactive carnival-style games and plenty of photo opportunities — alongside thousands of pumpkins in all shapes and sizes to choose from. Despite the theme, Garsons specifically notes that there aren’t circus acts or performances.
Tickets are limited and need to be booked online in advance. Pumpkin entry is separate from the pumpkin you take home.
Good to know: Garsons’ PYO farm is a proper working farm, so this is one for wellies and clothes you don’t mind getting muddy.

During October half term there is also a Trick or Treat Trail, with Hobbledown characters and sweet treats.

Then, during half term, there’s the Wonderland Pumpkin Festival — a separate immersive experience with actors, dancers and entertainers leading families through a Wonderland adventure before finishing at a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.

Mayfield is doing things a little differently this year with Malice Returns: The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
It’s an immersive Halloween experience set around Mayfield’s Secret Lavender Garden, with a magical storyline, characters, interactive elements and — importantly — pumpkins.
It’s more of a themed Halloween adventure with pumpkins incorporated into the experience than a traditional muddy PYO farm, so this is one for families who want the experience as much as the pumpkin.

This is the little local one to know about.
Be Spooky is taking place at Duke Street Church in Richmond and includes choosing and carving your own pumpkin, plus face painting, spooky fairground games and a Halloween photo booth.
It’s much smaller than the big pumpkin farms, which may actually make it appealing for families who don’t fancy a full day out.
Important: this event is currently sold out, but there is a waiting list. So if you’re hoping to go, it’s worth joining that rather than writing it off completely.

Yes, it’s further away. But we’ve kept it in because Kingston parents repeatedly recommend Tulleys, and it’s the sort of place families may happily travel further for once a year.
And it is BIG.
Tulleys has 1.5 million pumpkins and gourds, pumpkin fields, the new Pumpkin Valley for 2026, street theatre, roaming musicians, food and drink, a vintage carousel and a 33m observation wheel.
This is less “pop to a local farm and grab a pumpkin” and more make a day of it.
💷 Price: Tickets vary by date and experience; check current booking page
🎟️ Booking: Advance booking recommended
🎃 Type: Huge PYO pumpkin festival / full day out

Want something really close to Kingston?
Start with Garsons, Hobbledown Epsom or Be Spooky in Richmond.
Want actual pumpkin picking in a field?
Try Garsons, Crockford Bridge, Hobbledown Heath, Priory Farm, Secretts, The Fruit Fields, Merrist Wood or Tulleys.
Want a full day out rather than just picking a pumpkin?
Hobbledown Epsom, Hobbledown Heath, Bocketts or Tulleys all give you plenty to do beyond the pumpkin itself.
Want something a little different?
Mayfield’s immersive Halloween experience or the small Be Spooky event in Richmond are worth a look.
And if you’re heading out with toddlers or preschoolers, don’t forget the golden rule of pumpkin picking: wear the wellies, bring a spare pair of trousers, and don’t let the children choose the biggest pumpkin in the field unless you’re prepared to carry it. 😂
We’ve done the research, but dates, prices, availability and individual activities can change. Always check the venue’s official website before travelling.
