Top Gift Guide for under 6s!

Alysha here! I have four kiddos 6 and under.. here is my top toys that are worth it!

One year olds:

1. Wooden Stacker Toy

So simple, but my kids have always loved playing with these especially doing them together with me. Plus, they’re very aesthetically pleasing, which is always a bonus!

2. Something With Wheels

You really can’t go wrong with something they can push around. These monster trucks have stood the test of time in our house! An animal pull along toy with wheels is another favourite.

3. Flap Books

Dear Zoo and Dear Santa are two of my go-tos. I’ve gifted these to pretty much every 1-year-old whose birthday party we’ve been to!

2 year olds!

1. Busy Board

This is such a fab toy for car rides! My tip: keep it tucked out of reach until you need it. When it finally comes out, my littles are instantly hooked.

2. Mud Kitchen

If you have outdoor space, this is the ultimate all-year-round activity. My kids play with it in every season, so it’s a brilliant investment with endless possibilities. We usually add soap and bubbles, or they load it up with dirt, grass and sticks. The messier, the better, as far as they’re concerned!

3 year olds!

1. Bath Barista Toy

OK so my 1, 3 and 4 year old all really like playing with this one! I wish I got it sooner to be honest.

2. Magnetic Tiles

FOREVER one of the best toys… need I say more.

3. Mess free Colouring Set

These colouring pads are AMAZING! My favourite part is that you can hand the kids the markers and let them get creative without worrying about them drawing all over your table, walls or furniture. The markers only work on the special paper. Genius!

4-year-olds!

1. Remote control car

Best part about this one…. WATERPROOF. All my kids love this car, it flips and super easy to drive.

2. MathLink cubes aka Numberblocks

My 4 year old loves to build with them, count them, and they look just like number blocks that he learns about in school. A very underestimated toy.

6-year-olds!

1. Leapfrog Globe

He has learned so much with this globe, probably knows more about capitals than myself at this point! Worth every penny as the knowledge he has gained and continues to has been amazing.

2. National Geographic Kids animal encyclopaedia books

The amount of random animal knowledge my kids have picked up from these is incredible, and the photos are absolutely brilliant. We have a handful of them, and they’ve been so well-loved that they’re all a little worse for wear from being read over and over again!

Our current favourites:
🪲 Bugs
🐅 Predators
🌊 Ocean Animals
🦎 Reptiles
