You know you are a Kingston parent when...

  1. Walking around the top floor of Fenwick is basically a soft play session. Not actually, but my kids can browse the toys for so long it counts as one.
  2. You’ve carried a scooter or bike for the last 15 minutes of a walk home…many…many times.
  3. You regularly pop into John Lewis to kills some time.. and because you know the toilets on the third floor can always be relied on.
  4. Your social life has, at some point, been entirely dictated by a playgroup or toddler class timetable.
  5. Richmond park is a staple… from newborn walks to big-kid adventures.
  6. Lidl… do I go more often than necessary purely because of the kids shopping carts? Yes. Yes, I do.
  7. Your pram has done more laps of the river than you have runs in your life.
  8. A garden centre is basically the same as a zoo… well, not really, but when they are young enough it kind of hits the same.
  9. Cafes are a necessity. Babyccinos, hot chocolates, If I get one, you get one. Cafe dates always.
  10. You bump into at least three other parents you know everytime you go into town.
  11. You check the library events calendar almost as often as you check the weather. And often manage to turn up on the day its closed.
  12. You get some after the school drop off and empty your pockets to the surprises. A toy, old food, money, lots of crumbs of course too.
  13. Lastly, you know you’re a Kingston parent when you tell someone where you live and they say ‘Ohhh Kingston! There’s EVERYTHING there!” And you jut think… yes, yes there is! 💛
